Just a quick background... the AUTC Championships has long been the highlight of our club events for years now. We have always emphasised the social nature of this tournament but unfortunately, people like us can't help but get competitive once we step on those blue hard courts! For people who get a huge satisfaction from battling through a tough draw nadal-style, here is your perfect event! Get those backhands down the lines and off forehands painting the lines because it has to be that good if you are going to be the last man standing!
We are starting the Club Championships as early as week 3 this year to avoid schedule clashes that have plagued previous Club Championships. This means that if you are interested, your entries have to be in by Friday the 2nd of August. At this stage, we are planning to have two main draws, singles and doubles. But depending on the response that we hope to get, this can be modified accordingly. We emphasise that in signing up, we expect all participants to show some commitment by turning up to play their matches.
